Parish Manager

The Kirkby Lonsdale Parochial Church Council (PCC) is responsible for St Mary’s Church and seven other churches in the area. It is supported by a team of four clergy.

We are seeking to appoint a new role of Parish Manager to take on some of the management of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Kirkby Lonsdale. The job holder will be a member of the parish management team will work in areas of finance, safeguarding, property and administration.

The Parish Manager is responsible for one part time member of staff, the Parish Administrator with whom they will organise the work.

Salary: A salary of up to £35,000 per annum pro rata for the right person

Hours: Flexible hours varying between 15 and 20 hours per week

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have excellent planning, time management and organisational skills. They will have a good pastoral sensitivity and be able to maintain confidentiality. They will have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing. They will have the ability to pick up and work with new concepts quickly – and to develop creative solutions as problems arise.

Previous office management experience will be valuable

The position is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
