Kirkby Lonsdale Community Recovery Partnership

The Communications Liaison of the KL Community Recovery Partnership has been established has been formed to provide confidence around information coming from official channels regarding the recent Kirkby Lonsdale fire. Their function is to ensure that official communications can be rapidly and reliably distributed as they are released.

Our churches are open for face-to-face services. We have provided guidance around attending for collective worship here. Please read this before attending. All will be welcome at any of the services. Morning Prayer

8.15am on weekdays, the clergy meet together for Morning Prayer using ‘Zoom’. This is open to everyone to join. Please email info@kl.church for details. The readings for the day can be found here (just select the right date). The orders of service are as follows (click on the day) Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday.

Mens Breakfast

We meet about 4 or 5 times a year on a saturday morning from 10am to noon…ish .. usually in the Methodist Church Hall.  As the group name suggests – men only!  We share a cooked breakfast ( probably the best cooked breakfast in the Lune Valley – no watery bacon and over-breaded sausages for us!)  Then we have a short talk – usually but not exclusively faith based. Speakers in the last year have included our MP, Tim Farron, and Adam Green sharing his transatlantic rowing experience.

The Community Cupboard and Hub

We support the efforts of the community initiatives which have proved so useful during the pandemic. A food box for donations/uptake of supplies is in St Mary’s Church porch. The contact number is the same as the Hub: 015242 36404 between 10:00 and 13:00. Website here: https://klcommunity.co.uk

Our local ecumenical covenant

Kirkby Lonsdale is notable for the very close links between our different churches. The covenant signed by the clergy to emphasise those links is available as a PDF file here.
